I've feel for the same thing and tired of dishonest people.

My favorite was when a recruiter would actually do all of her recruiting by pretending to be an MT. She went to great length singing the praises of her company, even though others were badmouthing the company. She was very convincing until I put two and two together. Actually, she wasn't too smart. She private emailed me from the board as the MT saying that she would contact her boss to recommend me.. Well, though and behold her boss and her both had the same email. Now, do I look like a moron or what. So, honestly, I rarely trust those cheerleaders on here and just take it with a grain of salt because you never know who your talking to.

Why do people think they have to be the QA police here. I am so tired of
people voicing their opinions, only to have it pointed out they didn't spell something correctly, or used the wrong word, or made a typo. We put up with this day in and day out in our jobs, trying to make sure everything is correct. Do we really have to do it here too? Frankly, I'm sick of it.
I am not miserable at all. I am just tired of excuses of why people cannot work! nm

dictators.  A flat rate sure would help, but  I still don't want to do dictators like that all day long.

the country is so poor and I still blame Bush for all this outsourcing of every aspect of American life.........cars, MT business, etc.....and yes, outsourcing was going on pre-Bush but NOT TO THIS DEGREE...and he's now opened up the Mexican border so all of them can walk across the border to do their jobs and then return home at night to Mexico.....***grrrrrrr***


Also, I'm a gift cataloger of US Companies.....so now when I call a lot of companies to order things, I am reaching *call centers* in India, Guyana, the Phillipines, and pretty much all 3rd world countries..........I I SO HATE THAT......and I'm willing to share - just don't give all our gigs away........

I am off this morning and came here to see if anything is new, and wow! there is a lot of negativity again.

These companies would not be in business and would not be as large as they are if they did all the things they are accused of, did not have work, overhired, etc.

Come on now, people! If they are all out of work, who's doing the work? I doubt that any of these are truly out that short on work and overstaffed, especially as they are hiring!

It costs a lot to find, interview, hire, train and start an employee. They would not waste time (or the almighty dollar) by hiring people for no reason.

I've been saying the same thing...
 for years now!! I just don't get it. Back in 1990 when my son was a baby I worked for a large national. I was an employee with benefits full-timer and I was being paid 10 cents/line!!! Things have gotten so bad and I'm lucky to have my own accounts with decent line rates, but when there is no work (like today due to the Holiday), I suffer. I panic and every day I wake up scared of this industry. I am leaving soon....looking at all sorts of other options. This business has gone downhill fast on a slippery slope and it just continues to deteriorate. Feels good to vent..thanks for listening.

Why offshore to save money if you're just going to have to hire editors to correct the mistakes? Sounds like it DUH-feats the whole purpose of it to me!

Sure has been quiet since they started bouncing checks, not paying their MTs at all, etc.  I just assumed they had changed their name and were incognito somewhere here.


I've wondered about the same thing if...
the IT guy came in remotely and cleaned off anything related to the company and its activities so you were just left with a clean system. Sometime you just like a computer that works great and it would be nice to own it for cheap when leaving a company rather than them paying for shipping back and doing who knows what with it as a used computer when they get it back. Just my thoughts, nothing I have ever done or asked for.

is usually sprung on us like a big surprise and really throws a curveball.  Suddenly all these emails, half the time there are no account specifics.  Very disorganized.
I've been thinking the same thing.
I stayed with the Q too long into the downslide. You are so right, it has a familiar smell. I cannot see myself doing that again. Just don't know if there are any more decent companies out there.

I was going say the exact thing. People really
nice, but sound quality was awful.  Paid better than most.  QA fairly strict.  They are a bit disorganized and kept losing my work.   They were/are going to upgrade their system and that might make sound quality better. 
Some people thing the MTs here are negative SM
and mean but they really are telling the truth 99% of the time when posting negative things about a company.

Okay, I don't have any intention to going to Transcend even BEFORE I read this piece of information. I immediately bailed and am happily already working somewhere else with another PT lined up I start Monday 'just in case' (the old eggs/basket theory here).

But THIS???

That is dehumanizing, demoralizing, and REPUGNANT behavior on the part of ANY employer. I am sick to my stomach reading that, OP.

Vile does not even begin to describe the attitude of ANY company that would have such an attitude toward an employee having a family problem.

I WILL give this to MDI-MD, and I do not believe my sister MTs will argue. Those people were WONDERFUL when an emergency arose and we were called away, whether it was for a few hour or a few days. Never a word, except words of encouragement and to say they hoped things worked out well and to keep them posted. I, to this day, believe they honestly did have compassion in this regard.

But THAT is what those staying have to look forward at Transcend?

I am SO grateful I immediately jumped ship. I could never work for an organization that treated people that way.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for the extra unnecessary and INEXCUSABLE stress you were put through during your time of need.
I've tried to tell people as well
transcribed by MTs that are not in any way educated enough to document correctly the happenings in our medical care, and the response I get is oh yes, that is happening everywhere even with customer service for most companies.  So you see?  Not many are really that worried about it..  It is a sad state of affairs. 
And the strange thing is they keep hiring people so it almost seems as though they want us to run
out of work. How has their QA point thing been working out with people on so many accounts. What a joke.
I've been posting the same thing for a couple of years. I don't understand

why people feel like their company has to provide insurance and they may take a job they hate just for insurance.  Getting your own policy is almost always cheaper and then you aren't tied to a job/company you hate.


If you have pre-existing conditions situation may be different.

Money owed is money owed. Doesn't matter if it's $10, $125, $5,000, or $50,000. If you do a service in exchange for payment, and you live up to your end of the bargain, if someone thinks they are so cunning that they can get around having to pay the money that is due, then they haven't met ME, yet! I went after a guy for $125 once, and I had the SHERIFF IN THE YARD, ready to allow me to take possession of their brand-new Ford F350 dually pickup truck that I had attached through Small Claims Court. Needless to say, rather than hand the officer the truck keys, they handed him $125.

The reason is that a lot of MT's have had bad experiences EVERYWHERE they go, if you know what I mean. They then bash the most recent company over and over again.

The same few people seem to have worked everywhere and have something bad to say about every company.

Take everything with a grain of salt on here. It is a gossip board.

The only ones to believe the negativity about are those that do not pay or bounce their payroll checks.

The rest? Well, most are decent companies that might not be a good fit for everyone. There is not much difference between all the bigger ones except whether they send work offshore or not. Otherwise, rates are similar, benefits are similar, work load is similar.

The same thing happened to me 2 years ago. That Indian creep gets people to work

for him. He gives this scale of how you are supposed to be paid, but it NEVER, EVER is the high range that you KNOW you are owed and deserve.  So, then your production and earning come up and they are WAY off base.  On top of that, he either pays you late or not at all.  This is fair warning...DO NOT WORK FOR CALLSTREET!

I've been following your story because I find it disgusting the these MTSOs stiff people
and get away with it. I find it awesome that you had the courage to stand up to her and send this notice to the hospital. Why shouldn't they know what liars and thieves they contract to. A lot of business out there that subcontract, especially hospitals, are even running background checks so they know how they are dealing with. I'd file a complaint with BBB, Department of Labor..anywhere I could to get her bad name out there and hopefully if she does try to solicit more business she won't be able to. Again, I applaud you!!!! Good work!!!!

I transcribed 1,195 lines and ichart reflected only 154.08 lines the next day! I documented line counts every day, and for one pay period it was 2500 lines off on their end! - disqualified from benefits too. NO answer from supervisor.

Apparently there were changes made. That does not make her dishonest. It means her plans changed.

I got an email saying that I could not sustain my life with 1 doctor - so they would have to let me go - that = you aren't working here anymore. So, the next step is to call your unemployment office - they determine whether you are eligible to receive benefits or not - and because of the emails that the lead MT sent - she is the one who hung KS - it was determined that I was eligible. Then you look for work - for which there are many different aspects of what you apply for and what you do or do not accept - there are not so many employment positions for MTs -more IC jobs which do not count as employment. I did everything as layed out in the guidelines. KS just didn't want to be responsible for their part of the unemployment - siting laws in their state - which are not the same as those in the state where I live - and you state's laws are the ones that count - not theirs. Please tell me what is dishonest about this. I did nothing dishonest while working for KS - all I did was work. Oh, I did miss one TAT because my broadband was down - and that was in a year.
Well that's just plain dishonest then.
I wonder if the MTstars quote was actually written by the the recruiter him/herself then.  I think I'll pass on this company then.
Actually, I think we all would like to forget them. It has been proven that they are dishonest.
