-Babysitting Your Queue..

This is so pathetic. I also have a life and other things and people to tend to in my life. I simply cannot babysit my queue (not every single shift!) *hoping* that work will come in, slowly. I know that work will eventually come in. Thing is, everyone else is searching madly for work along with me, so the new job will last in the queue maybe 5 minutes before someone takes it.

not babysitting
Merely stating that a person is an IC or they're not. You can't be a cherry picker in terms of which IRS laws you wish to follow and which you don't.
Babysitting - I didn't mean MTs babysit
I meant that the radiology department has fired the MTs in favor of doing VR and editing it themselves. That in and of itself is troubling because it is usually a mess to clean up. But by babysitting, I meant that they hire IT people, computer people, to make sure the VR software is performing properly. So if you get rid of the real experts, the MTs, and edit the reports yourselves, not only do you have a real quality problem but you have not saved any money because the number of computer specialists who only know the nuts and bolts of the software you must hire far surpasses the number or MTs you would have needed to make a good quality report. So what I am saying is that they have not only sacrificed quality but they have had to hire new people to make sure the software works properly, thereby not saving money.
You probably have them set in your queue...sm
Most companies assign or place them in a queue for you and there is no way aruond them... you're just stuck.. and that is what is unfair if you're good, you get the crummy dictators...
I am guessing that the OP meant the queue
shut off means she can see there are jobs there, but when she clicks to get them, she gets nothing. Either that or suddenly the jobs go from a large amount to 0 all the way down. I have experienced both. Don't know if it is queue shut off or work manipulation by sups.
Never heard of queue shutoff, but...sm
what's also happened was that I'd be at the end of a long report, and when I try any of the Ctl+ functions (Ctl+J, or Ctl+N to upload the job) it is suddenly frozen and I have to log off. Doesn't affect the typing, though. My thought at the time (and I'm getting pretty paranoid about the whole MT thing) is that these Leads are taking the jobs right from under our noses (when they have to do their own lines) and keeping them for themselves. It happened once, I tried to log back on, e-mailed my Lead MT who said the job had already been assigned to another MT. Huh?? EXCUSE-ME! Pretty fast work if you ask me. Just my opinion; can't prove it.
HINT: My company had a pretty strong wind lately. In tumbleweed country. (I don't want to give names, you know, paranoia (LMAO).
Jobs in queue have a way of disappearing --sm
awfully quickly once in the MT's queue - the better the dictation (low ESL, etc) the quicker it disappears. But nobody knows anything.
They definitely expect you to be tied to your queue
anxiously awaiting work. It's ridiculous. They overhire plain and simple. This slowdown is not seasonal and is not exclusively the economy. They lost my 3rd acct in June. I've begged me STM for another backup multiple times. Ain't happening. It's idiotic.
